 Does it matter where you live while filing your GC

It might be a good question for some and dumb one for the others. Keep in mind no question is a dumb question  :)
Below is the Scenario:

Person X is currently residing in State A and working for a company in State A.
Now person X wants to move and reside in State B and continue work in State A. Company in State A is going to sponsor the Green Card. Will it matter in anyways in regards to the processing time when filing for GC?
 Previous experience and knowledge in this matter is highly appreciated.

It is a hear say.
Really it does not matter, but it may delay on processing. Once you move out , you have to provide new mailing address.  Who ever in process of getting green card like to stay same address until you get GC.

So basically if you are  starting the process with the new address of the new state it should  not matter...?

Working for company A in H1 B and can file GC from company B ? in this case only after i get my GC I need to move to company B , the next day i get my GC i need to move to the company B is that right ?

Where you live does not really matter in a situation you have mentioned. It may matter only for where you file your GC to but does not matter at all for any other things.


BetterNepal, I think you can do that since GC is for future employment. However, why a company sponsor somebody who is working for another company just hoping that you will work for that company. How will they benefit if you don't join them?
